[[#Teams]]

* 11.1 Teams shall consist of a maximum of eighteen players, comprising a maximum of eleven first choices and seven substitutes operating only in a variety of formations specified by the Fantacy Football League. 4:4:2 formation or less in each position. For clarity, the team is formed thus:
** 11.1.1 A maximum of two goalkeepers. one goalkeeper plus one substitute goalkeeper in the 'goal' position.
** 11.1.2 A maximum of six defenders.
** 11.1.3 A maximum of six midfielders / attacking midfielders / wingers.
** 11.1.4 A maximum of four attackers / strikers / forwards.


[[#Substitutes]]

* 13 Substitutes shall be permissible as detailed in section 11 of these rules and managers may choose, for each gameweek, which players within their team shall be their first choice players and which shall be substitutes.
**  13.1 The selected players' details must be posted on the fantacy mailing list or notified directly to the fantacy football league administrator. Team selections will be made through the Squad selector on the managers home page. If there are inconsistencies in your squad then it is permissible to post your squad selection to the fantacy mailing list for clarification ahead of any given gameweek. Where your changes will be enacted by the fantacy football league administrator. 
** 13.2 Should any of the first choices not play for any reason then the first and then the second and so on... nominated substitutes in each position shall automatically assume their place.
** 13.3 It shall be the responsibility of the managers to inform the fantacy football league administrator of all team selections prior to play in each week's competitions commencing at kickoff of a gameweek (08.10.06 Report 8.rtf), otherwise the previous week's selections shall stand (see Appendix).


[[#2016]]

in 2016 FA Cup Quarters and Semi Finals were included in Fantacy Premiership weekends. 2021 calls for the inclusion of the FA Cup final in the same manner.

==Fantacy Football League==

The Fantacy Football League operates through the [[#Fantacy Website | fantacy website]], which is maintained by the [[#Fantacy Football League Administrator | fantacy football league administrator]] who publishes the [[#Results|results]], to which each of the twelve member [[#Clubs | clubs]] all contribute copy from their [[#Pressroom|pressroom]] although their prime purpose is to seek to acquire [[#Fantacy Points | fantacy points]] whereby they may challenge for each of the seven [[#Trophies | trophies]] awarded in the seven [[#Competitions | competitions]] each [[#Season | season]].  

To participate one must pay [[#Subscriptions | subscriptions]] and field [[#Teams | teams]] comprising [[#Players | players]] and [[#Substitutes | substitutes]] both of which may only play in such positions as do not fall foul of the [[#Bible Rule | bible rule]] and both of which may be acquired only following observance of due process for valid [[#Objections | objections]] as to their acquisition having been afforded following the making of proper [[#Transfer Requests | transfer requests]] (to be invigilated upon by the [[#Transfer Czar | transfer czar]]), through [[#Trade | trade]] or the incorporation of an [[#LTG | LTG]]. 

Once so acquired they shall be [[#Under Contract | under contract]] whereafter they must immediately be paid a [[#Salary | salary]], have a [[#Pool Price |pool price]] (which may or may not be their [[#Estimated Value | estimated value]]) and have a [[#Resale Value | resale value]] The only permissible form of currency available to [[#Managers | managers]] to meet their financial obligations is [[#Fantacy Money | fantacy money]] which may be generated only by [[#Gate Receipts | gate receipts]], being designated the [[#Manager of the Week | manager of the week]], finishing in the [[#Cream | cream]], some sales to the [[#Pool | pool]],  or from playing in the [[#Challange Cup | Challange Cup]] and the [[#League Cup | League Cup]]. 

Less importantly, [[#Prize Money | prize money]] (funded from [[#Subscriptions | subscriptions]]) shall be paid for winning either of the two aforementioned cup competitions and also for winning the [[#Golden Boot | Golden Boot]], the [[#Dirty Bastard Boot (in the Bollocks) | Dirty Bastard Boot (in the Bollocks)]] and for being the champion or the runner up in the [[#Premiership | Premiership]], which is comprised of 38 ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ral7KJ9CPv2ViBv0DCiwWPHVfUWNSrFVO2b-dX_eXbs/edit#gid=3 ''10.08.14'']) [[#Gameweek|gameweek]]s, each with a predetermined [[#Kickoff|kickoff]] time.  For coming in the bottom six therein the classification of [[#Dross | dross]] shall be applied and for coming last therein the provisions dealing with [[#Relegation | relegation]] shall apply which may include the appointment of a [[#New Manager | new manager]].

No money of either kind, however, shall be awarded for participating in or winning the [[#Care in the Community Shield | Care in the Community Shield]] or the [[#Mug of the Year | Mug of the Year]]. Sanctions shall be applied for committing [[#Punishable Breaches | punishable breaches]] of certain [[#Rules | rules]] which, for the avoidance of doubt, may be varied only at [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meetings]]. == Fantacy Points ==

6 Fantacy points shall be awarded in accordance with [[#Teams | team]]s' overall performances and each week those participating [[#Players | players]] shall acquire points for their [[#Clubs | clubs]] in the following amounts: 

:6.1 For each goal they score, [[#Players | players]] shall receive nine points.

:6.2 For scoring an own goal, [[#Players | players]] shall have deducted nine points.

:6.3 For receiving a red card, [[#Players | players]] shall have deducted five points and for receiving a yellow card they shall have two points deducted (but if they receive two yellow cards in the same match they shall have deducted the five points for the resultant red card). 

:6.4 For being credited on [http://www.soccernet.com Soccernet] as being the provider of an assist for a goal, [[#Players | players]] shall be awarded one point, known as a 'real assist' ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvcGZPV0FEWExFUkpDY1gwUnRTOGZkT3c#gid=7 ''29.03.09'']).

== Season ==

9 The season is comprised of 40 gameweeks. Each season shall commence with [[#Kickoff|kickoff]] of [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] 1 when the [[#Care in the Community Shield | Care in the Community Shield]] shall be played, if anyone has bothered to pick a Charity XI, and end with the completion of [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] 40 and the playing of the [[#Challange Cup | Challange Cup]] final and shall take in the entirety of all of the other [[#Competitions | competitions]]. The end of the season shall be celebrated by the mother of all parties, hosted by the winner of the [[#Premiership | Premiership]].

== Subscriptions ==

10 [[#Prize Money | Prize money]] shall be derived from subscriptions payable by each of the [[#Managers | managers]] to the treasurer of the [[#Fantacy Football League|fantacy football league]]. 

:10.1 Subscriptions must be paid to the treasurer by the October [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]] each  [[#Season | season]]. Failure to do so will result in: 

::10.1.1 Offending [[#Clubs | club]]s’ bank accounts shall be frozen and they shall be prevented from entering into any [[#Trade | trade]] or purchase of [[#Players | players]] from the [[#Pool | pool]].

::10.1.2 These sanctions shall be applied until such a time as the defect has been remedied and such remedy notified by the treasurer to the [[#Fantacy Mailing List | fantacy mailing list]].

::10.1.3 If subscriptions remain unpaid by the time of the Opening [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]] of the following [[#Season|season]], then the offending [[#Managers | manager]] may be sacked if a majority of those [[#Managers|managers]] attending vote to do so ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFF5Nnp1eE9EQzlleVNVTzFVMlY0Tmc#gid=0 ''12.08.12'']).

:10.2 The amount of subscriptions payable are as follows: 

::10.2.1 Waged - forty pounds 

::10.2.2 Unwaged - twenty-five pounds

:10.3 If the subscriptions are paid on time as required by these rules then the following discounts shall be applied: 

::10.3.1 Waged - five pounds 

::10.3.2 Unwaged - nil

:10.4 The [[#Fantacy Football League Administrator | fantacy football league administrator]] shall be exempted from the requirement to pay subscriptions completely.

:10.5 Any new [[#Manager | manager]] shall be entitled to claim a ten pound discount on his subscriptions for the period of his first full or part [[#Season | season]] in charge of his [[#Club | club]].

== Teams ==

11 A team is the group of [[#Players | players]] acquired by a [[#Manager | manager]] to play for his [[#Club | club]] and, to be considered legal, teams shall comply with the following conditions: 

:11.1 Teams shall consist of a maximum of eighteen [[#Players | players]] , comprising a maximum of eleven first choices and seven [[#Substitutes| substitutes]] operating only in a 4:4:2 formation or less in each position. For clarity, the team is formed thus:

::11.1.1 A maximum of one goalkeeper plus one [[#Substitutes| substitute]] goalkeeper in the 'goal' position.

::11.1.2 A maximum of four defenders plus two [[#Substitutes| substitute]] defenders in the 'defence' position.

::11.1.3 A maximum of four midfielders / attacking midfielders / wingers plus two [[#Substitutes| substitute]] midfielders / attacking midfielders / wingers in the 'midfield' position.

::11.1.4 A maximum of two attackers / strikers / forwards plus two [[#Substitutes| substitute]] attackers / strikers / forwards in the 'attack' position.

:11.2 Teams shall not include more than two [[#Players | players]] from any one Premier League club. 

:11.3 If, at [[#Kickoff|kickoff]] of a [[#Gameweek|gameweek]], a team that does not conform with the conditions outlined in paragraphs 11.1 and 11.2 takes to the field then a [[#Punishable Breaches | punishable breach]] shall have been committed, for which sanctions apply.

:11.4 Teams are fixed at [[#Kickoff | kickoff]] and howsoever they are constituted at that point in time shall determine all outcomes for that [[#Gameweek | gameweek]]. 

:11.5 Consequently, at any time after [[#Kickoff | kickoff]], teams are permitted not to conform with the conditions outlined in paragraphs 11.1 and 11.2, and shall not be considered to have committed a [[#Punishable Breaches | punishable breach]], including whilst games are in progress, until the [[#Kickoff | kickoff]] of the subsequent [[#Gameweek | gameweek]]. 

:11.6 If a [[#Manager | manager]] conducts any [[#Trade | trade]] between one [[#Kickoff | kickoff]] and the next, it is incumbent upon him to ensure that the [[#Teams | team]] that takes to the field at the next [[#Kickoff | kickoff]] shall be legal, by informing the league, either through the [[#Fantacy Mailing List | fantacy mailing list]] or by recording during a [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]] upon the meeting spreadsheet, the outcomes of all of his dealings.

== Players ==

12 Players are footballers who may be acquired from the [[#Pool | pool]] who are contracted to a "real" English Premier League team, whose results count for the purpose of calculating [[#Fantacy Points | fantacy points]].

:12.1 For a [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] for a player to be valid, he must be signed to an English Premier League club at the time the request is created ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFF5Nnp1eE9EQzlleVNVTzFVMlY0Tmc#gid=3 ''12.08.12'']).

::12.1.1 For the purpose of determining whether a footballer is a player, he is only recognised as having signed for a Premier League team when such has been announced on the "real" team's website ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEdpMXlBczRVeUVUMzVVbElRa0ZfckE&usp=sharing#gid=0 ''11.08.13'']). 

::12.1.2 If a player is listed on the website of more than one "real" club then the club where he actually plays football shall take precedence, whether this be in the Premier League or some other league ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEdpMXlBczRVeUVUMzVVbElRa0ZfckE&usp=sharing#gid=0 ''11.08.13'']).

:12.3 Players may be acquired in the following three ways:

::12.3.1 Following a successful [[#Transfer Requests | transfer request]].

::12.3.2 By [[#Trade | trade]] with another [[#Managers | manager]].

::12.3.3 By incorporation of an [[#LTG | LTG]].

:12.4 Players may play only in a position within a [[#Teams | team]] which is not in breach of the [[#Bible Rule | bible rule]].

14 The default position in which a [[#Players | player]] shall participate in any [[#Teams | team]]  shall be the position stated on his individual page on the [http://www.soccernet.com Soccernet] website ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFAwZGI5c0h6UHVvekc2Tk5FYXBLRUE&usp=sharing_eel#gid=3''10.08.14'']).

:14.1 If a [[#Players | player's]] Premier League club website unambiguously defines a position different to the default then the Bible Rule may be invoked to have the position altered.  The club website shall be considered unambiguous if the stated positions, if they exist and excluding descriptive text, on the [[#Players | player's]] team and individual pages do not contradict one another ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFAwZGI5c0h6UHVvekc2Tk5FYXBLRUE&usp=sharing_eel#gid=3''10.08.14'']).

:14.2 Adjectives, such as 'attacking' and 'defensive', do not define position ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFF5Nnp1eE9EQzlleVNVTzFVMlY0Tmc#gid=3 ''12.08.12]).

:14.3 This holds  regardless of whether or not that record is actually correct and they shall not be fielded in any other position, unless they are incorrectly recorded out of position on the [[#Fantacy Website | fantacy website]], in which case, if no [[#Objections | objection]] is raised at the time of purchase (i.e before the 'object by' time on the [[#Transfer Requests | transfer request]] or during the auction at a [[#Fantacy Meeting|fantacy meeting]]), they may continue to play in that position.

:14.4 If no [[#Objections | objection]] is raised thereto to be considered at the Opening Meeting or the October [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meetings]] and should no [[#Objections | objection]] be raised at that time they may once again maintain their place out of position for the entire [[#Season | season]] and so on indefinitely.

:14.5 They may, however, be moved by their own [[#Managers | manager]] at any time from the position they were purchased to play in to the position they are described as operating in on their Premier League club's website.

:14.6 The Positional Tribunals are held at the Opening and the October [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meetings]], at which [[#Managers | managers]] may [[#Objections | object]] to the position taken by any other [[#Managers | managers’]] [[#Players | player(s)]] and the [[#Players | player(s)]] may forcibly be compelled to take the position determined by the bible rule. 

:14.7 If the change of position results in the [[#Teams | team]] being made illegal, as set out in [[#Teams |section 11]] of these rules, it shall then be incumbent upon each [[#Managers | manager]] whose [[#Players | player(s)]] has/have been moved to make his [[#Teams | team]] legal prior to [[#Kickoff | kickoff]] of the next [[#Gameweek | gameweek]], otherwise a [[#Punishable Breaches | punishable breach]] shall have been committed.

== Transfer Requests ==


15 Transfer requests are the means by which [[#Players | players]] are acquired from the [[#Pool | pool]] and are the most common method by which [[#Players | players]] are acquired by [[#Clubs|clubs]]. The FFL transfer window for transfer requests opens during the [[#Fantacy Meetings | Opening  Meeting]] of the Season and closes at midnight GMT/BST at the end of the day of the [[#Fantacy Meetings | April Fools’  Meeting]], except for sales to the [[#Pool | pool]] in order to legalise a [[#Teams|team]] prior to the next [[#Kickoff|kickoff]] after said [[#Fantacy Meetings|meeting]].
 
:15.1 If a transfer request is made at a [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]], an auction shall immediately ensue and whomsoever is prepared to pay the most [[#Fantacy Money|fantacy money]] shall acquire the subject contract. Any objections or counterbids must be made at that time and before the auction is declared ended in the meeting minutes. At such [[#Fantacy Meetings|meetings]] there shall be no limit to the number of successful signings that may be made. 
 
:15.2 The method of making transfer requests at any time other than during a [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]] shall be:

::15.2.1 [[#Managers | Managers]] must notify their intention to purchase a [[#Players | player]] by using the online website Transfer Room, the online system will post their initial bid to the [[#Fantacy Mailing List | fantacy mailing list]] stating their intended acquisition, the “real” club he plays for, the position in which they intend to field the [[#Players | player]], the amount of the bid made and providing a date and time by which the request shall be effected, known as the 'object by' date and time, which shall a period of three days after the initial bid is posted and advising that any [[#Objections | objections]] or counterbids must be made before that time.
 
::15.2.2 Other [[#Managers | managers]] may then lodge counterbids by using the Transfer Room functionality of the website. If the website is down? then a manager can reply to the original email, detailing the amount of their bid, for the benefit of the FFL Administration and the Transfer Czar.

::15.2.3 Counterbids can be made online in the Fantacy Transfer Room.

:::15.2.3.1 Any online counterbids made in the 24 hour period immediately preceding the expiry of the ‘object by’ time shall cause the 'object by' time to be extended by 24 hours.

::::15.2.3.1.1 When a counter bid is lodged that causes the 'object by' date to be extended then, attention will be brought to this in the body of the email sent to the mailing list.

::15.2.4 All bids and counterbids are binding and cannot be withdrawn.

::15.2.6 Following the expiry of the 'object by' time, or the extended ‘object by’ time, whichsoever of the [[#Clubs | clubs]] has made the highest bid before such expiry shall be entitled to the transfer.

::15.2.10 During the FFL transfer window, [[#Managers | managers]] may complete up to a maximum of two successful transfer requests in any given calendar month outside of any [[#Fantacy Meetings|fantacy meetings]] which may or may not take place during that month ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEM5REk0NFBaeC1IeEd5Nk1GQ181UlE#gid=3 ''08.01.12'']).
 
:::15.2.10.1 The number of successful transfers that have been completed in a given month shall be determined using the original 'object by' date (barring the proviso in 15.2.10.2), irrespective of when the auction actually finishes.
 
:::15.2.10.2 For the period of time between the Opening Meeting and the closing of the first Premier League transfer window, any transfer requests initiated will be exempt from transfer allocation restrictions, allowing unlimited transfers. Even if the 'object by' date goes into September, any transfer initiated before the time that the first Premier League transfer window closes will not count towards Septembers allocation ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFAwZGI5c0h6UHVvekc2Tk5FYXBLRUE&usp=sharing_eel#gid=3''10.08.14'']).

::15.2.11 Should a [[#Managers | manager]] successfully complete more than two transfer requests, whether initiated by that [[#Managers | manager]] or another, within a calendar month then any [[#Players | players]] over and above the allowed number shall have their contract(s) nullified and be returned to the [[#Pool|pool]]. The [[#Managers | manager]] shall receive no [[#Fantacy Money|fantacy money]] in compensation, losing all money that has been paid in order to acquire the player ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFF5Nnp1eE9EQzlleVNVTzFVMlY0Tmc#gid=3 ''12.08.12'']).

:::15.2.11.1 For clarity, the first two [[#Players | players]] to succesfully complete their transfers shall be retained and any further acquisitions shall be returned to the [[#Pool|pool]]. A transfer is deemed to have successfully completed when the auction is completed in the Transfer Room.

:15.3 There shall be no limit to the number of [[#Players | players]] that may be acquired through [[#Trade|trade]] between [[#Clubs | clubs]]. Acquisition of [[#Players | players]] through [[#Trade|trade]] does not affect a [[#Managers | manager's]] monthly allowance of successful transfer requests.

== Transfer Czar ==

16 A Transfer Czar shall be appointed each year and this appointment shall last for the season or until such time as another Czar is appointed. 

:16.1 It shall be his duty to oversee the successful running of the transfer system, he shall have the power, if necessary, to notify the fantacy football league of any required changes to transfers enacted by the system on another managers behalf. 

:16.2 Any [[#Managers | manager]] may bring to his attention any matter relating to transfers and upon receipt of such notification the transfer czar shall:

::16.2.1 Cause such enquiries as may be necessary to properly investigate the matter to be made.

::16.2.2 Produce a report of his investigation which, for the purposes of transparency, shall be published on the [[#Fantacy Website | fantacy website]]. 

:16.3 His power to adjudicate shall be final although he may, if necessary, refer any matter arising to the adjudication of all member clubs at the next [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]].

== Objections ==

17 Objections may be raised to any [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] for acquisition of a [[#Players|player]], up to the expiry of the ‘object by’ time.

:17.1 Other [[#Managers | managers]] may object to any premise of the [[#Transfer Requests | transfer request]]. Where relevant, objections should be supported by a link to the relevant report or webpage.

:17.2 If such objection is upheld, the [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] shall be cancelled and, if the nature of the [[#Objections | objection]] does not prevent it, the [[#Managers | manager]] shall be invited to resubmit the request in a valid form.

:17.3 If such objection is not upheld then the [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] shall be allowed to procede to completion at the originally stated 'object by' time. 

::17.3.1 If the final decision that an objection has not been upheld is made after the 'object by' time has passed then the [[#Players|player]] shall pass to the [[#Clubs|club]] that had lodged the highest bid at the 'object by' time ([http://www.totalfantacy.net/archives/0506/index.htm ''08.01.06 Report 22.rtf''] [see full meeting minutes]) or at the conclusion of the bidding if the period for objections has been extended.

:17.4 For example, another [[#Managers|manager]] may object on the grounds that the [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] does not comply with the [[#Bible Rule|bible rule]].

:17.5 Another [[#Managers|manager]] may also object on the grounds that the subject of the [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] is already [[#Under Contract|under contract]] to another [[#Clubs|club]]. 

::17.5.1 If no objection is raised before the ‘object by’ time or before the submission of the transfer successful email then this breach shall be noticed by the [[#Fantacy Football League Administrator | fantacy football league administrator]] at the time of implementing the transfer. In this circumstance the [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] shall be cancelled and the [[#Managers|manager]] notified through the [[#Fantacy Mailing List | fantacy mailing list]].

:17.6  Another [[#Managers|manager]] may object on the grounds that the subject of the [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] is not yet a [[#Players | player]] because he has not yet signed for an English Premier League club.

::17.6.1 If the objection is made prior to the player signing for an eligible “real” club and is upheld then the [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] shall be cancelled and the [[#Managers|manager]] invited to resubmit his request, at such a time as said footballer has become a [[#Players | player]].

::17.6.2 If the objection is made after the [[#Players|player]] has signed for an eligible “real” club, regardless of whether the [[#Players|player]] signed before or after the [[#Transfer Requests|transfer request]] being made or the ‘object by’ time, the objection shall not be upheld.

:17.7 There is no exhaustive list of objections that may be raised but, for the avoidance of doubt, that [[#Clubs|clubs]] would wish to bid but are prevented from so doing in consequence of having utilized all their monthly allowance of [[#Transfer Requests|transfer requests]] is not a valid objection.

== Under Contract ==

18 In order to ensure fairness, the [[#Fantacy Football League|fantacy football league]] shall continuously review all contracts that subsist and ascertain a true contract value for each [[#Players | player]]. 

:18.1 Contracts are payable at the last [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] to complete before 1 April of each [[#Season|season]] and at the point at which a [[#Players | player]] signs a contract with a [[#Clubs|club]] (signing-on) ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEx3NVhrZ0pTeTVMV09kSzJwYUM1cGc#gid=3 ''04.04.10'']).

::18.1.1 The contract payment at the last [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] to complete before 1 April is akin to a contract extension fee. The fees to be paid in order for [[#Managers|managers]] to retain the services of their [[#Players | players]] will be deducted from bank accounts at the [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] immediately after the deadline day [[#Fantacy Meetings|fantacy meeting]] (April Fools). With regard to each [[#Players | player]] on whom a contract is due, a [[#Managers|manager]] may choose from these options: ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEx3NVhrZ0pTeTVMV09kSzJwYUM1cGc#gid=3 ''04.04.10''])

:::18.1.1.1 [[#Managers|Managers]] may elect to pay the amount calculated in accordance with the statutory calculation (section 18.2). In this case the services of the subject [[#Players | player]] may be retained and the [[#Players | player's]] [[#Pool Price|pool price]] shall be increased by the same amount.

:::18.1.1.2 [[#Managers|Managers]] may decline to pay the contract, in which case they shall choose one of the following options:

::::18.1.1.2.1 The [[#Players | player]] may be returned to the [[#Pool|pool]] with all attendant provisions applying. 

::::18.1.1.2.2 The [[#Players | player]] may depart in consequence of [[#Trade|trade]]. A [[#Managers|manager]] can avoid paying the contract by transferring the [[#Players | player]] to another [[#Clubs|club]] but will have to pay the [[#Players | player's]] contract, as a signing-on fee, if he should return (see section 18.1.2) ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdERkOU9DSTRhOWI0V3RiUHY3b29GMVE&authkey=CM_Sv_UI&authkey=CM_Sv_UI#gid=3 ''02.04.11'']).

He shall at this time return to the [[#Pool|pool]] on a free transfer and the [[#Managers|manager]] shall hold no claim to him. :::18.1.1.3 Any [[#LTG|LTG]]'s that a [[#Managers|manager]] holds may accrue an [[#Estimated Value|estimated value]] if they play for a "real" team whose results are used to calculate [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] and as a result may accrue a contract value, the consequences of which are addressed in [[#LTG|Section 25]]

:::18.1.1.4 There exists a default position, which is that should a [[#Managers|manager]] not indicate his intention at deadline day then the league shall assume that he wishes to pay the [[#Players | player's]] contract in full and shall action this. [[#Managers|Managers]] should be aware that this could result in the club becoming overdrawn, which is a [[#Punishable Breaches|punishable breach]], for which sanctions apply.

::18.1.2 Any outstanding contracts resultant from previous periods of being under contract at a [[#Clubs|club]] must be paid at signing-on.

:::18.1.2.1 Signing-on liabilities are fixed at the time a [[#Players | player]] leaves a [[#Clubs|club]], based on his [[#Estimated Value|estimated value]] at that time, the [[#Pool Price|pool price]] at that time and the number of appearances since the last contract settlement (see section 18.2). If the [[#Players | player]] returns to the same [[#Clubs|club]] in the future, without having returned to the [[#Pool|pool]] in the meantime, this is the figure that shall be paid. It is based upon his performances for that [[#Clubs|club]] for which he has not yet been paid a contract ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEx3NVhrZ0pTeTVMV09kSzJwYUM1cGc#gid=3 ''04.04.10'']).

:::18.1.2.2 Any [[#LTG|LTG]]'s that a [[#Managers|manager]] holds may accrue an [[#Estimated Value|estimated value]] if they play for a "real" team whose results are used to calculate [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] and as a result may accrue a contract value, for which a signing-on fee shall apply if they are sold and subsequently return to the [[#Clubs|club]] and are incorporated into the [[#Teams|team]].
     
:::18.1.2.3 Any signing-on liabilities for [[#Players | players]] that they release through trade with another [[#Managers|manager]] shall be made known to [[#Managers|managers]] on their team page on the [[#Fantacy Website|fantacy website]] ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEx3NVhrZ0pTeTVMV09kSzJwYUM1cGc#gid=3 ''04.04.10'']).

:::18.1.2.4 When a [[#Players | player]] returns to the [[#Pool|pool]] then all signing-on fee liabilities are cancelled.  In this case the [[#Players | player]] has been returned to the open market and the market will decide an appropriate price for him. ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEx3NVhrZ0pTeTVMV09kSzJwYUM1cGc#gid=3 ''04.04.10'']).

:18.2 The contract value is calculated using the formula: 

:(([[#estimated Value|estimated value]] - [[#Pool Price|pool price]]) / 2) x (no. of [[#Gameweeks|gameweeks]] played since last contract settlement / no. of [[#Gameweeks|gameweeks]] in a full [[#Season|season]])

::18.2.1 This can be described as half the difference between [[#estimated Value|estimated value]] and [[#Pool Price|pool price]] multiplied by the ratio of the number of games played for the [[#Clubs|club]] since the last contract settlement to the number of [[#Gameweeks|gameweeks]] in a full ffl [[#Season|season]], reducing his contract burden if he has played less than the requisite full [[#Season|season]] for a full contract liability or increasing it if he has played more ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFF5Nnp1eE9EQzlleVNVTzFVMlY0Tmc#gid=0 ''12.08.12'']).

:::18.2.1.1 The last contract settlement is whichever is the more recent of (a) the date the [[#Players|player]] signed for his current fantacy [[#Clubs|club]] or (b) the last [[#Gameweeks|gameweek]] to complete before 1 April. 

:::18.2.1.2 For the purposes of determining contracts, a [[#Players|player]] is deemed to have played if he starts, appears as a substitute or is an unused substitute for a "real" team whose results count for the purposes of calculating [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]]. He is deemed to have played for his [[#Clubs|club]] if these appearances occur whilst he is under contract to that [[#Clubs|club]] and has therefore earned [[#Gate Receipts|gate receipts]], even if he should have been an unused [[#Substitutes|substitute]] for his fantacy [[#Teams|team]]. ::18.2.3 A full contract entitlement is reached after 40 appearances and scaled down in proportion for fewer appearances.  i.e. if a [[#Players | player]] plays every week between contract payments he gets his full contract. If a [[#Players|player]] should make more than 40 appearances for his [[#Clubs|club]] between contract payments, as a result of rearranged games, his contract shall increase in proportion. For example, 2 games from earlier in the season may be rearranged and played after the deadline day [[#Fantacy Meetings|fantacy meeting]] (April Fools), resulting in 42 games being played between then and the following deadline day, so the contract payable would be 42/40 (105%) of his full contract ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFF5Nnp1eE9EQzlleVNVTzFVMlY0Tmc#gid=0 ''12.08.12'']).

== Pool Price ==

20 Pool price is the sum total of all monies that have been paid into the [[#Pool|pool]] in respect of a given [[#Players | player]] since that [[#Players | player]] was last bought from the [[#Pool|pool]]. 

:20.1 Pool price comprises the initial payment to the [[#Pool|pool]] for the [[#Players | player]] plus any subsequent [[#Under Contract|contract]] settlements that have been paid for that [[#Players | player]].

:20.2 Pool price travels with the [[#Players | player]] if he transfers to another [[#Clubs|club]] through [[#Trade|trade]] and is reset to zero when he re-enters the [[#Pool|pool]] ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0An5UTewKHCdDcG05NDY3VEw5cFNkRWNIbVFVX01tYmc#gid=7 ''05.10.08'']).

==Estimated Value==

21 The value of [[#Players | players]] shall be their actual worth as calculated in accordance with the statutory calculation.

:21.1 First, a fantacy rating is calculated for each [[#Players | player]]. 

:fantacy rating = (pts/game + pts/40) /2 

::21.1.1 pts/game = [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] scored per appearance (starts or substitute appearances for their  “real” club) over the last 40 [[#Gameweek|gameweek]]s.

::21.1.2 pts/40 = [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] scored per [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] over the last 40 [[#Gameweek|gameweek]]s.

::21.1.3 Therefore fantacy rating is the average of points per game played and points per week.

:21.2 The average values for fantacy rating and [[#Pool Price|pool price]] are then calculated for all [[#Players | players]] in a given position.

:21.3 [[#Players | Players']] estimated values are based upon the total amount of money that has been paid into the pool to buy the players who are currently in [[#Teams|teams]] and on [[#Fantacy points|fantacy points]] scored.

:estimated value = 0.25 + ( ( Pa - 0.25 ) / Ra^2 ) R^2 

::21.3.1 Pa = average [[#Pool Price|pool price]] of [[#Players | players]] who have made 10 or more appearances in the Premier League.

::21.3.2 Ra = average fantacy rating of [[#Players | players]] who have made 10 or more appearances in the Premier League.

::21.3.3 R = player's fantacy rating.

:21.4 If a [[#Players | player]] misses matches in the previous 40 [[#Gameweek|gameweeks]] his estimated value will drop, with the desirable consequences being his [[#Resale Value|resale value]] will decrease and his [[#Under Contract|contract]] will be less. [[#Players | Players]] out injured or residing on the bench will be worth less than those playing full time.

:21.5 It would be undesirable for a [[#Players | player's]] value to fall to zero if, for example, he were injured for a whole [[#Season|season]], so [[#Players | players']] ratings are not adjusted if they have played fewer than 5 matches in the last 40. [[#Players | Players']] ratings continue to drop until they have played only 4 games in the last 40 and then their rating is retained at the level it was at when they had played 5 games in the last 40. They then continue with the same rating until they have played more than 5 games in the last 40.

:21.6 [[#Players | Players]] new to the [[#Fantacy Football League|fantacy football league]] shall initially have a fantacy rating of zero and an estimated value of 0.25m. This zero rating will be maintained until they have played the requisite 5 matches at which point they shall receive a valid rating and the estimated value will increase above 0.25m.

:21.7 [[#Salary|Wages]] are based on estimated value and are fixed at the last [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] to complete before 1 April each [[#Season|season]], the time when all [[#Under Contract|contracts]] are renegotiated.

:22.1 On sale to the [[#Pool|pool]] the resale value shall be paid but on [[#Trade|trade]] no such restrictions shall apply as the [[#Fantacy Football league|fantacy football league]] endorses and applauds all free market principles and recognises that the freedom of [[#Clubs|clubs]] to pursue profit may not be fettered in any way whatsoever and for the avoidance of doubt that statement of principle extends to nullifying anything contained in these rules which may otherwise serve to so restrain unless and only in the event that [[#Managers|managers]] embark upon a course of conduct which is complained of as fraudulent. In those circumstances a tribunal will be conducted at the next fantacy meeting.

:22.3  The full [[#Estimated Value|estimated value]], regardless of [[#Pool Price | pool price]], shall be paid by the [[#Pool|pool]] for [[#Players | players]] who leave the Premier League to play for a club that competes in the top flight of another league. ==Pool==

23 The pool is the residual list of [[#Players | players]] eligible to play in the [[#Fantacy Football League | fantacy football league]] but not contracted to one of the [[#Clubs | clubs]]. It is also the place to which all unwanted [[#Players | players]] are sold.

:23.1 Signings from the pool shall be made for a minimum of one quarter of a million fantacy pounds and returns to the pool shall be for [[#Resale Value | resale value]].

==Trade==

24 Trade between [[#Clubs|clubs]] is permissible and, indeed, is to be encouraged. [[#Managers|Managers]] may trade between themselves and engage in swap deals on whatever terms as they may see fit. 

:24.1 The league cannot administer loan deals so they are not formalised by the league in any shape. Any movement of [[#Players | players]] between [[#Clubs|clubs]] is a transfer, which may or may not involve the exchange of [[#Fantacy Money| fantacy money]], and can be under whatever terms the [[#Managers|managers]] agree upon. If the two [[#Managers|managers]] agree to transfer back at some future point, it is up to the [[#Managers|managers]] concerned. As far as the league is concerned, there are no 'loan deals' ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvcGZPV0FEWExFUkpDUk94R0s0LU1fWlE#gid=0 ''06.04.08'']).

::24.1.1 If two [[#Managers|managers]] agree a 'loan' and the recipient of the 'loaned' [[#Players | player]] is relegated then the 'loaned' [[#Players | player]] shall be dealt with in the same manner as the rest of the [[#Teams|team]] and this shall happen before the transfer window opens at the Opening Meeting. Consequently, the 'loaned' [[#Players | player]] cannot be returned to the lending [[#Managers|manager]]. The two [[#Managers|managers]] may wish to put an agreement in place in case of this eventuality. 

:24.2 The [[#Fantacy Football League|fantacy football league]] operates on a free market philosophy and any restraint of [[#Trade|trade]] is viewed as repugnant. Self regulation, however, carries burdens as well as benefits and any malpractice or misfeasance can only undermine the good repute of the organisation and any attempt to undermine the fragile economic integrity of the [[#Pool|pool]] shall be frowned upon and may be punished by the imposition of whatsoever penalties as may be necessary as may be decided by a tribunal convened at a [[#Fantacy Meetings|fantacy meeting]].

:24.3 There shall be no limit to the number of [[#Players | players]] that may be acquired through [[#Trade|trade]] between [[#Clubs | clubs]], other than the requirement to keep the [[#Teams|team]] legal. Acquisition of [[#Players | players]] through [[#Trade|trade]] does not affect a [[#Managers | manager's]] monthly allowance of successful [[#Transfer Requests|transfer requests]].

==LTG==

25 LTG is an abbreviation for "Long Term Gamble" and refers to any footballers who may have been acquired from the [[#Pool | pool]] when contracted to a "real" team whose results do not count for the purpose of calculating [[#Fantacy Points | fantacy points]]. LTGs have now been abolished and can no longer be acquired, although any existing LTGs held by managers at the time of abolition may be retained and all of the previously existing rules relating to them, other than those relating to acquisition, continue to apply ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFF5Nnp1eE9EQzlleVNVTzFVMlY0Tmc#gid=0 ''12.08.12'']).
:25.1 Existing LTGs may be incorporated into the [[#Teams|team]] but only during any period when such footballers are contracted to play for a "real" team whose results do count for the purposes of calculating [[#Fantacy Points | fantacy points]] and only when the transfer window is open i.e between the Opening Meeting and transfer deadline (April Fools Meeting) day. 

:25.2 [[#Managers | Managers]] shall be under no obligation to incorporate them at such a time, or at all, unless they generate a [[#Under Contract|contract]] value greater than nil at the time of the transfer deadline [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]] (April Fools), in which case they must be incorporated or relinquished at that time. If relinquished the [[#Fantacy Money | fantacy money]] paid for the LTG shall be forfeited, unless they are otherwise sold.

:25.3 If a footballer who is held on an LTG should play (starts, appears as a substitute or is an unused substitute) for a "real" team whose results count for the purposes of calculating [[#Fantacy Points | fantacy points]] then, from that time onwards, the [[#Clubs|club]] holding his contract shall pay him a [[#Salary|salary]] at twice the rate of [[#Players | players]], i.e. 0.8% of [[#Estimated Value|estimated value]] ([http://www.totalfantacy.net/archives/0607/index.htm ''08.10.06 Report 8.rtf'']) at the previous [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] 30 ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdE5Kbk1VR01oSzVLcDVaby1GNmtxTFE&authkey=CI2Hr9cF&authkey=CI2Hr9cF#gid=3 ''13.02.11'']), or [[#Pool Price| pool price]] if this is unavailable. If the [[#Players | player]] did not have a [[#Pool Price|pool price]] at that time then the [[#Pool Price|pool price]] at the time the [[#Players | player]] entered the league shall be used. These appearances shall be used to calculate the [[#Under Contract|contract]] value at [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] 30.

:25.4 If incorporated, all of the usual rules applying to [[#Players | players]] and [[#Teams | teams]] shall apply, including that the [[#Under Contract|contract]] shall be settled in full.

:25.5 A footballer held on an LTG cannot be sold directly to the [[#Pool | pool]], only [[#Players | players]] can be sold to the pool, so if a [[#Manager| manager]] wishes to sell an LTG to the [[#Pool | pool]] he must first be incorporated into his [[#Team|team]], for which he must have a legal berth available to do so.

:25.6 Prior incorporation is not necessary for the purpose of [[#Trade | trade]] between [[#Clubs|clubs]].

:25.7 If an LTG is traded between [[#Clubs|clubs]] then any [[#Under Contract|contract]] value that may have accrued whilst with the selling [[#Clubs|club]] shall pass with the LTG to the buying [[#Clubs|club]], along with all statistical data relating to [[#Under Contract|contracts]] and [[#Estimated Value|estimated value]]. Consequently, if an LTG is traded and has accrued a [[#Under Contract|contract]] value at transfer deadline (April Fools Meeting) day, then the purchasing [[#Clubs|club]] shall be liable for the [[#Under Contract|contract]] payment and shall have to incorporate or release the LTG.

==Managers==

26 Managers' duties include an obligation to carry out business on behalf of their [[#Clubs | clubs]] and to notify to the [[#Fantacy Football League | fantacy football league]] of all such business decisions. Furthermore, they must seek to create as vibrant an identity as they are able by way of (but not limited to) picking and naming the [[#Teams | teams]], purchasing the [[#Players | players]], creating nicknames, designing crests, composing terrace chants, naming stadiums etc. 

:26.1 Managerial vacancies may arise in consequence of sacking arising from [[#Relegation | relegation]] or non payment of [[#Subscriptions|subscriptions]] ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFF5Nnp1eE9EQzlleVNVTzFVMlY0Tmc#gid=0 ''12.08.12'']), resignation, or eviction. == Gameweek ==

28 The [[#Premiership|premiership]] is constituted of 38 ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFAwZGI5c0h6UHVvekc2Tk5FYXBLRUE&usp=sharing_eel#gid=3''10.08.14'']) gameweeks and the [[#League Cup|league cup]] and [[#Challange Cup|challange cup]] are also played within this structure.

:28.1 A gameweek starts at [[#Kickoff|kickoff]] and usually concludes when each of the 20 teams in the English Premier League have completed a round of 10 games in which each of the teams have played once. The exceptions to this are:

::28.1.1 Should any of the matches in a gameweek be postponed then the gameweek shall conclude at the planned time and the rearranged game(s) shall be included in the gameweek that it/they is/are actually played within or the gameweek immediately before.

:::28.1.1.1 If this gameweek should be a week in which the [[#League Cup|League Cup]] or [[#Challange Cup|Challange Cup]] are being played then the rearranged game(s) shall be included in the gameweek that immediately follows instead.

::28.1.2  There shall be two extra matches played, on the gameweeks of the 3rd ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFAwZGI5c0h6UHVvekc2Tk5FYXBLRUE&usp=sharing_eel#gid=3''10.08.14'']) and 4th ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1W1KwqPXDsa7Jk1YJjMFfFpjauAyl7lGLrEr8eOD0sfo/edit#gid=3 ''02.08.15''])rounds of the FA Cup. All [[#Players|players]] that participate in the 3rd round of the FA Cup shall score [[#Fantacy points|fantacy points]] and goals in the usual manner and these shall be used to determine the outcome of the respective round of the [[#Challange Cup|FAntacy Challange Cup]] ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdEdpMXlBczRVeUVUMzVVbElRa0ZfckE&usp=sharing#gid=3 11.08.13]).

:::28.1.2.1 Should any of the matches in this gameweek be postponed then the gameweek shall conclude at the planned time and any rearranged game(s) or replay(s) shall not be included in any future gameweek.

:::28.1.2.2 For clarity, for these two matches, [[#Kickoff|kickoff]] remains the moment in time when the first match to be played in the gameweek is scheduled to start, even if the match does not involve a Premier League team.

:28.2 Gameweeks usually start on Saturday lunchtime and end on Monday evenings but this is by no means set in stone and they do sometimes start in midweek.

==Gate Receipts==

30 Gate receipts are the [[#Clubs | clubs]]' primary source of [[#Fantacy Money | fantacy money]] and are paid weekly at the rate of one fantacy pound for each spectator who watches any of their [[#Players | players]] perform in the "real" world although, if such performance is limited to the bench, only half the gate receipts shall be paid. No gate receipts shall be paid in the event that they do not make it to the bench. 

:30.1 Enhancements to remuneration are available:

::31.3.2 Then by goals scored.

::31.3.6 Then by team name in alphabetical order, alternating weekly between A-Z (on even numbered [[#Gameweek|gameweek]]s) and Z-A (on odd numbered [[#Gameweek|gameweek]]s).

::  3rd - 2 million fantacy pounds

==League Cup==

33 The League Cup is considered to be the third most prestigious of the [[#Competitions | competitions]]. Matches are played simultaneously with [[#Premiership | Premiership]] matches and the [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] and goals scored by [[#Players|players]] during a [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] are used to calculate the outcomes of both [[#Premiership | Premiership]] and cup games.

:33.1 The fixtures for the competition weeks shall be announced in advance by the [[#Fantacy Football League Administrator|fantacy football league administrator]]  on the [[#Results|results]] sheets as the competition progresses. All dates can be varied, except the final which shall be held on Boxing Day.

:33.2 It takes place firstly in two group stages in which:

::33.2.1 Those [[#Teams | teams]] comprising the previous [[#Season | season]]'s [[#Cream | cream]] play each other home and away.

::33.2.2 Those in the [[#Dross | dross]] do likewise. 

::33.2.3 The criteria for winning, losing or drawing is on goals alone and own goals shall count for the opposition. Three points are awarded for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a loss. 

::33.2.4 For each group, mini league tables are produced and the top two finishing of each go into the semi finals and the winners of those on to the final. 

::33.2.5 If two or more teams finish the group stage level on points they shall first be sorted on goal difference, then on goals scored, then the total amount of fantacy points scored during the fixtures between the respective teams shall decide the winner ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdFAwZGI5c0h6UHVvekc2Tk5FYXBLRUE&usp=sharing_eel#gid=3''10.08.14'']).

:33.3 The semi finals are two legged games. 

:33.4 The final is a straightforward ninety-minute match played on Boxing Day. 

:33.5 In the event of a drawn semi-final aggregate score after two legs, or a drawn final, then the total amount of [[#Fantacy Points | fantacy points]] scored during the given week(s) shall decide the winner.

:33.6 [[#Fantacy Money | Fantacy money]] is awarded to all participating [[#Clubs | clubs]] as set out in [[#Gate Receipts |section 30]].

:33.7 Both one of the [[#Trophies | trophies]] and [[#Prize Money | prize money]] (or free [[#Subscriptions | subscriptions]] for the following [[#Season| season]]) are awarded to the winner, who must host a [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]] the following February.

==Golden Boot==

34 The Golden Boot is one of the minor [[#Competitions | competitions]] and shall be awarded to whichsoever of the [[#Teams | teams]] scores the most goals during the [[#Season | season]]. Both one of the [[#Trophies | trophies]] and [[#Prize Money | prize money]] are awarded to the winner.

:34.1 In the event of the Golden Boot being tied then the [[#Prize Money | prize money]] shall be shared between the highest scoring [[#Teams|teams]] and the trophy shall be awarded to whichever [[#Manager|manager]] scores the most goals during the end of season party. The [[#Manager|managers]] present at the party shall decide whether this should be the highest scorer during a game of football or whether a penalty shootout should be employed.

35 The Dirty Bastard Boot (in the Bollocks) is one of the minor [[#Competitions | competitions]] and shall be awarded to whichsoever of the [[#Teams|teams]] is given the most negative [[#Fantacy Points | fantacy points]] for picking up red and yellow cards during the [[#Season | season]]. Both one of the [[#Trophies | trophies]] and [[#Prize Money | prize money]] are awarded to the winner.

:35.1 If the result of the The Dirty Bastard Boot (in the Bollocks) competition should be that two or more teams are tied on negative fantacy points then they shall be sorted on the number of cards that were red cards. If this does not separate the teams then the prize money shall be shared between the managers and they shall slug it out in a bout of bare-knuckle boxing between themselves to decide who shall have the honour of taking the trophy home. ==Relegation==
37 Relegation shall be the sanction applied to [[#Teams | teams]] for finishing bottom of the [[#Premiership | Premiership]] but this must be distinguished from ejection of the [[#Manager|manager]] from the [[#Fantacy Football League | fantacy football league]]. 

:37.1 Failed [[#Manager|managers]] may either: 

::37.1.1 Resign and request that a [[#New Manager | new manager]] be appointed.

::37.1.2 Elect to continue to participate, in which case: 

:::37.1.2.1 They shall host the next Opening Meeting.

:::37.1.2.2 At this meeting they shall have made available to them all of their [[#Clubs | clubs]]’  [[#Fantacy Money | fantacy money]] that is held in their bank accounts.

:::37.1.2.3 They shall also have made available to them the full [[#Estimated Value | estimated value]] ([https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AtrCTCud6WxvdGVHRjd6c3RycHdmckd0UmpUeUpXQXc&authkey=CLu31rED&authkey=CLu31rED#gid=3 ''07.08.11'']) of their [[#Players | players]] (who shall all be returned to the [[#Pool | pool]]).

==New Manager==

38 A new manager shall only ever be appointed to the [[#Fantacy Football League | fantacy football league]] in the event of one of the existing [[#Managers | manager]]'s resignation, eviction or sacking and may be identified and invited to participate ideally from a waiting list but in practice following a mad scramble with only seconds remaining before the [[#Season | season]] kicks off.

:38.1 Should a new manager take over a [[#Clubs | club]] mid [[#Season | season]], or in a position other than having been relegated, then he shall acquire all the assets of that [[#Clubs | club]] as they remain, having been abandoned by the previous [[#Managers | manager]], and shall take over the running of the [[#Clubs | club]] as it stands at that time. He may rename the [[#Clubs | club]] should he so choose.

:38.2 In the event of a vacancy arising through [[#Relegation|relegation]] he shall have made available to him all of the [[#Clubs | clubs]]’ assets and the same rules shall apply as apply to relegated [[#Teams | teams]] save that, for the purposes of building a promoted team, he may retain as many of the [[#Players | players]] as he chooses, although the right to sell them to the [[#Pool | pool]] for their [[#Estimated Value| estimated value]] should he not elect to sell them by way of the first piece of business at the first [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]] shall thereafter lapse and, unless sold through [[#Trade | trade]], they shall thereafter nett only their [[#Resale Value | resale value]].

==Care in the Community Shield==

39 The Care in the Community Shield is the least prestigious of the [[#Competitions | competitions]] and doesn't physically exist but is perversely the hardest to win as to enter it [[#Clubs | clubs]] must first win the [[#Premiership | Premiership]] the previous [[#Season|season]]. Participating [[#Teams | teams]] play against the Charity XI "best of the rest" picked by the other eleven [[#Managers | managers]] each given a berth to fill from their own [[#Players | players]] at random but in practice the Charity XI is either picked by the management of Anthrax Amsterdam or not at all owing to lack of commitment and/or charity. 

:39.1 The match is a straight head to head and is won or lost on [[#Fantacy Points | fantacy points]] alone. 

:39.2 The only prize for winning it is respect, or it would be if it were respected. The [[#Fantacy Website | fantacy website]] does not even record the result. The only records exist in copies of old match reports. 

:39.3 Neither one of the [[#Trophies | trophies]] nor [[#Prize Money | prize money]] is awarded to the winner.

43 The Challange Cup is the premier of the [[#Fantacy Football League | fantacy football league]]'s cup [[#Competitions | competitions]]. All twelve [[#Clubs | clubs]] participate and are paid [[#Fantacy Money | fantacy money]] by way of extra [[#Gate Receipts|gate receipts]], for each match they play. Matches are played simultaneously with [[#Premiership | Premiership]] matches and the [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] and goals scored by [[#Players|players]] during a [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] are used to calculate the outcomes of both [[#Premiership | Premiership]] and cup games (save for the exceptions detailed in 43.1.1)

:43.1 Each match shall be played the week prior to the "real" Challenge (sic) Cup round save for:

:43.2 In the preliminary stages the [[#Teams | teams]] shall be divided into three groups. The [[#Fantacy Football League Administrator |fantacy football league administrator]] shall allocate all fixtures at random and from the hat. 

::43.2.1 Each [[#Teams | team]] shall play the other three in their group in two-legged matches.  Each of the two legs are played  simultaneously, within the same [[#Gameweek|gameweek]]. These matches shall use the results of the [[#Premiership|Premiership]] matches that the opposing [[#Teams|teams]] played in the given [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] to determine their outcomes. The result of a given [[#Teams|team's]] game shall be deemed to be the result of their home leg, with their goals for counting for them and their goals against counting for their opponent. This is reciprocated with their opponent. ::43.2.2 At the conclusion of the group stage matches the top two from each group and the two highest scoring runners up will progress to the knockout stages.

:43.3 During the knockout stages, once again the fixtures shall be drawn from the hat but those who were previously drawn together in the group stages shall not play each other again, unless three [[#Teams|teams]] from the same group progress to the semi-final, or two [[#Teams|teams]] from the same group progress to the final.

:45.1 Fielding an illegal [[#Teams|team]]. There are two ways in which an illegal [[#Teams|team]] may be fielded:

::45.1.1 Having, within a [[#Teams|team]], more than the [[#Teams|legal limit]] of [[#Players|players]] from any one English Premier League team at [[#Kickoff|kickoff]] of a [[#Gameweek|gameweek]], the sanction for which is that:

:::45.1.1.1 The league will ‘send to the stands’ whichever of the breaching [[#Players|players]] will result in the lowest [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] total for the [[#Teams|team]] during that [[#Gameweek|gameweek]]. In the case that fewer points are scored by playing all breaching [[#Players|players]], then all are played. This would be the case if sending a [[#Players|player]] to the stands would result in the bringing on of a substitute which would result in a higher total of [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] being scored. The league shall send to the stands one [[#Players|player]] for each breach, each time maximising the loss of [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]]. 

:::45.1.1.2 For clarity, ‘breaching [[#Players|player]]’, in the context of paragraph 45.1.1.1, refers to any of the [[#Players|players]] from the Premier League team whose legal limit has been exceeded.

:::45.1.1.3 ‘Sent to the stands’ means that any [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]]  scored by the [[#Players|player]] that [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] shall not be counted for the purposes of allocating [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] to the [[#Teams|team]] and he shall earn no [[#Gate Receipts|gate receipts]]. :::45.1.2.1 The league shall first make the [[#Teams|team]] legal by ‘sending to the stands’ whichever [[#Players|player]](s) in the position(s) that has/have too many [[#Players|players]] will result in the lowest [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]] total for the [[#Teams|team]] during that [[#Gameweek|gameweek]]. The league shall ‘send to the stands’ one [[#Players|player]] for each breach, each time maximising the loss of [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]]. 

:::45.1.2.2 The league shall then send the next highest scoring [[#Players|player]] from the position that is in breach of the rules or the [[#Players|player]] from this position whose removal from the [[#Teams|team]] shall maximise the loss of [[#Fantacy Points|fantacy points]].

:46.4 For the purposes of email filtering, all correspondence that relates to the rules or rule book shall include the word 'rule' in the subject line. All correspondence that relates to the ratification of a rule or rules shall include the word 'ratification' in the subject line and all correspondence that relates to proposals for future rule changes shall include the word 'proposal' in the subject line. For example: "rule ratification: fantacy meetings", "rule proposal: illegal teams". The words 'rule', 'ratification' and 'proposal' should be avoided in all other correspondence as far as possible.

:46.5 '''Procedure for proposing, ratifying and enacting changes to the rules:'''

::46.5.1 At least seven days prior to the Opening [[#Fantacy Meetings | fantacy meeting]], the [[#Fantacy Football League Administrator|Fantacy Football League Administrator]], or his delegate, shall make available to all [[#Managers | managers]], through the medium of Googledocs or some similar document sharing service, a spreadsheet that shall make it possible to:

::46.5.2 Any [[#Managers | manager]] who wishes to propose a change to the rules shall first put their suggestion into an email and post it to the [[#Fantacy Mailing List | fantacy mailing list]] for general discussion.

== Fantacy Meetings ==

47 Fantacy meetings are the preferred forum for conducting all business relating to the [[#Fantacy Football League|fantacy football league]] and the only forum for amending the [[#Rules|rules]] is the Opening Meeting of each [[#Season|season]]. They can also be used for the purchase of [[#Players | players]] from the [[#Pool|pool]] and transfer of [[#Players | players]] between [[#Managers|managers]], as well as any other business or discussion that is deemed appropriate.

:47.1 Meetings shall be conducted through the medium of Internet Messenger or some similar internet messaging system that allows for the recording of dialogue between [[#Managers|managers]] as text. 

::47.1.1 This text shall be saved by one of the participating managers at the end of the meeting and posted to the [[#Fantacy Mailing List|fantacy mailing list]] and shall constitute the minutes of the meeting.

:47.2 A meeting shall be deemed to have been convened when a minimum of two [[#Managers|managers]] are in attendance and in dialogue through the medium of Internet Messenger. From this point, until the minutes are saved, it will be possible to conduct transactions and make decisions through the process of voting, that shall be considered valid and the will of the league. It is deemed good form to allow a reasonable amount of time for any [[#Managers|managers]] to arrive who, through the [[#Fantacy Mailing List|fantacy mailing list]], have previously expressed an intention to attend.

:47.3 Meetings may be convened at any time but shall take place on four occasions during each [[#Season|season]] plus the Opening Meeting which shall take place on the weekend prior to the start of the [[#Season|season]]. For guidance, the recommended dates are as follows:

::47.3.1 On the date that the Community Shield is played in the "real world", the Opening Meeting shall be hosted by the [[#Managers|manager]] of the bottom finishing of the [[#Clubs|clubs]] in the previous season.

::47.3.2 On a date during the month of October, hosted by the [[#Managers|manager]] of Anthrax Amsterdam at The Diseased Ground. 

::47.3.3 On a date during the month of December, hosted by a volunteer.

::47.3.4 On a date during the month of February, hosted by whichsoever [[#Managers|manager]] has been the winner of the [[#League Cup|league cup]].

::47.3.5 On the weekend of [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] 31, usually the first weekend in April (the April Fools’ meeting), hosted by whichsoever [[#Managers|manager]] is the current leader of the [[#The Dirty Bastard Boot (in the Bollocks)|Dirty Bastard Boot (in the Bollocks)]] trophy.

:47.4 The precise date and time of the meeting will be agreed by consensus through the medium of the [[#Fantacy Mailing List|fantacy mailing list]], in order to facilitate the attendance of as many [[#Managers|manager]]s as possible. All dates are variable except those of the Opening Meeting and the April Fools’ Meeting. 

::47.4.1 The usual time for meetings to start is 1200GMT or 1200BST, whichever is in force at the time, on a Sunday but this can be varied if there is a clear consensus, as determined through the [[#Fantacy Mailing List|fantacy mailing list]], that it should be otherwise and the host is in agreement.

::47.4.2 The Opening Meeting and the April Fools’ Meeting shall be held on the dates specified above, at 1200BST, unless there is a clear consensus, as determined through the [[#Fantacy Mailing List|fantacy mailing list]], that it should be otherwise. If one [[#Managers|manager]] objects to variation of the date and time of either of these two meetings then the meeting must be held at the aforesaid date and time. The reason for this is to allow managers to plan around these dates, in order to facilitate their attendance at these two most important meetings.

:47.5 The role of the host is to make the final decision on the date and time of the meeting, within the parameters set out in sections 47.3 and 47.4, and to provide hospitality to whichever [[#Managers|manager]]s wish to attend the meeting in person at the host’s home stadium.

:47.6 The usual protocol for the format of the meeting is to follow the following agenda:  

::47.6.1 If the meeting is the Opening Meeting: 

:::47.6.1.1 It shall be opened by dealing with any agenda items that have been raised in advance of the meeting on the meeting spreadsheet. Agenda items take the form of proposals for changes to the [[#Rules|rules]] and there is a procedure in place which explains how this is to be conducted.

:::47.6.1.2 A positional tribunal shall be held, at which compliance with the [[#Bible Rule|bible rule]] shall be enforced, before any other business is entered into.

:::47.6.1.3 The first item of business shall be the free transfer for the promoted [[#Teams|team]] (see [[#Relegation|relegation]]).

::47.6.2 If the meeting is the October Meeting (second fantacy meeting of the [[#Season|season]]) then a positional tribunal shall be held, at which compliance with the [[#Bible Rule|bible rule]] shall be enforced, before any other business is entered into.

:::47.6.3.1 This shall be transfer deadline day and no further transfers of any kind shall be allowed from midnight at the end of this day until the next Opening Meeting, except sales to the [[#Pool|pool]] in order to legalise a [[#Teams|team]] prior to the next [[#Kickoff|kickoff]].

:::47.6.3.2 Contracts for all players [[#Under contract|under contract]] shall become payable, their contract values having been determined at [[#Gameweek|gameweek]] 30.

::47.6.4 The meeting then moves onto 'business', which refers to the buying and selling of [[#Players | players]], either through [[#Trade|trade]] between [[#Managers|manager]]s or between [[#Managers|manager]]s and the [[#Pool|pool]].  If there are any active transfer requests in progress (i.e with 'object by' dates later than the meeting) then these shall be concluded as the first item(s) of business.

::47.6.5 Any [[#Players | players]] who were [[#Under Contract|under contract]] to a [[#Clubs|club]] prior to the meeting who are released to the [[#Pool|pool]] during the meeting cannot be bought back from the [[#Pool|pool]] during the same meeting.

Leading judgement of Toad FFLJ

My lords, the position is thus. I find that BSE requested that the player Dunn not be positioned any position other than at second sub and such request was properly conveyed to the Fantacy Football League. Of this there can be no doubt as the request to purchase and to so position were articulated simultaneously. The question that must be asked then is as follows: did the positional request lapse in consequence of the negligence of the Fantacy Football League to action that properly made request? It seems to me to be self evident that it did not. Had BSE sought to seek to insist upon the positional change having taken any previous advantage of the Fantacy Football League’s negligence that that would be a very different matter. They did not. The evidence that I have heard and which I accept is that BSE were in fact unaware of the negligence and nothing in the prior weeks results following the transfer would have put them on notice of the erroneous listing of their squad.

Why then should BSE be prevented from requesting that their transfer request be actioned as was requested for this very important match of Fantacy Football? I can think of no reason at all. Similarly had BSE sought to have any previous results recalibrated I can think of no reason why that should be allowed. It seems to me that the matter is very simple indeed. Whilst this decision turns on its own and very particular facts if there is to be a ratio decedendii that will fall into law it is that each weeks’ results are irrevocably set in stone immediately upon the following weeks’ results being published but that any unactioned transfer requests are not invalidated by that act, that is to say that the request endures. That is not to say that a Fantacy Football club should be allowed to profit in an unfair way. Were a club to remain silent to seek to take an advantage from an unactioned transfer request then the Fantacy Football League would properly be entitled to refuse a request to action such an enduring transfer request post facto. That is not the position in this case however and in these circumstances my Lords I find in favour of the appellant.

but find the players average points per game played - over the last 38 weeks and find their rating based on 38.

EG.

If a player scores 60 points in 38 games?
we would want

( 60/38 + 60/38 ) / 2 = 1.579

As he has played a full complement of games over the last 38 weeks his points per game ratio is exactly the same as his rating.

If another player plays less games due to injury but still scores 60 points then you would expect this second player to have a greater pts/game ratio surely... hes better than the first guy! scores more points in general when he plays!
If he plays 5 less games ie played = 33 

( 60/33 + 60/38 ) / 2  = 1.690

Of course a player who has scored 60 points in only 12 games during the last full season must be shit hot compared to the other two guys.

( 60/12 + 60/38 ) / 2 = 3.289

So in effect the last fella who (when he plays) is a 5 points per game man gets his points per game ratio (or fantacy rating) lowered to 3.289 as hes clearly not worth a great deal due to his injury problems. but his rating is a lot more than the previous plodders who take an inordinate amount of time to reach 60 points.

Therefore fantacy rating = (pts/game + pts/38)  /2  

What we are looking for is an average of the points per games played and the points per season.

Now we have..

As you can see if a player misses matches in the last 38 weeks his valuation will drop, with the desirable consequences being his resale value may well decrease and his contract will be less. Players out injured or residing on the bench will be worth less than those playing full time.

Of course, we don't want a players value to drop to nothing... or if your injured player is out for a whole season you don't want their rating to drop to zero and hence their estimated value to reach rock bottom 0.25m.

Therefore we don't adjust a players rating if they have played less than 5 matches in the last 38. A players rating continues to drop until they have played only 4 games in the last 38 and then their rating is retained and they continue with the same rating until they have played 5 or more games in the last 38.

Players new to the Premiership/FFL will initially have a rating of zero and an estimated value of 0.25m this zero rating will be maintained until they have played the requisite 5 matches at which point they will receive a valid rating and the estimated value will increase above 0.25m.

In old system we had.
- averages based on players who had played 10 games or more.
- estimated values were given to players who had played 5 games or more.
This was due to us starting the calculations at week 1 ... our averages (price and rating) were only deemed valid after we had played 10 weeks of the season... hence contracts began to accrue at week 10.

In the new system we happily go with the averages of players who have played 5 games or more in the previous 38 weeks. So getting rid of the stipulation that a player must have played 10 in calculating the averages. We have plenty of players who have played a large number of games to be satisfied with the averages.

Wages, based on this value also change at week 30 instead of week 1 and managers would see the new wage bill which may make April meeting decisions easier ??

Evening All,

As you probably know, KiEV and I have been working on updating the estimated values calculation. The problem at the moment is that the calculation only uses performances this season as under FFL1 we just had the current season's data and we only need the calculation to be good by week 30.

As the rules have evolved we now need our estimates to be good all the time as they affect players resale values to the pool, sales abroad, signing on liabilities, etc. so we want to make a simple change to the calculation. Rather than use just the current season's performances we want to use a rolling one season (38 week) window. So a player's estimated value today would be based on all his performances between week 27 last season and week 26 this season. Come contract fixing day we would use performances from week 31 last season to week 30 this season. The calculation is otherwise identical.

As well as giving us good estimates all season, this new calculation also has the advantages that our hard working players are rewarded for all their performances. At the moment those most crucial of performances in the title run-in between weeks 31 and 38 are never rewarded as we fix a value at week 30 and then start accumulating contracts again at week 1 next season.

There is also the question of what happens to a player when he leaves the premier league or doesn't play for a long time for some other reason. At the moment players with less than five performances this season don't get valued so we just stick with the player's value the last time it could be calculated at the end of a season. Under the updated system, because there is a rolling window, the player will be revalued every week until such a time as he hasn't played five of the last 38 games. His value would then remain static until such a time as he has played five of the last 38 games again. This would have the advantage that players who have been crocked for ages, dropped, or buggered off like Beckham would have their values tail off until they had played five out of 38

Players who have never played five games will have a default value of £250,000

I've attached a spreadsheet of showing what this would do to *projected* contract values this season. The total contracts for most clubs are pretty similar. The big changes are that Fungus would has a projected 4m contract to pay on The Drog and that KiEV's contract on Berbatov would be 4.7m rather than 8.1m. This is because they are both valued 22m under the rolling 38 week system whereas the current calculation values Berbatov at 29.6m and The Drog at 12.7 (which surely can't be right). It should be noted though that come week 30 these projected values will be closer than they are now as this season's weeks 27-30 will be included in both calculations and last season's weeks 27-30 won't be included in the rolling calculation.

For clarity, the projected contracts assume the players have the same values and play every game until contract deadline day.
